Lewis joined Peterborough from Norwich for 400,000 in January 2008
Peterborough United goalkeeper Joe Lewis has said he believes boss Darren Ferguson is right to keep faith in his current starting line-up.
Posh are yet to win a league match following promotion to the Championship and sit 21st in the table.
However Ferguson has remained committed to his tactical blue-print.
Lewis told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "The gaffer's very loyal, he sticks by his players so long as you give 100%. We're not far away from the first win."
"Obviously if you don't play to the best of your ability, then it's a different story."
Posh have put in a string of impressive performances, but have seen individual errors cost them vital points.
Lewis admits the squad are disappointed with their start to the season, but confidence remains high.
"Morale is very good, we're still confident because we're playing well," he said.
"Nobody seems to be lacking confidence and with the character of this squad I can't see that happening."
Ferguson made just four major summer signings - Tommy Rowe, Lee Frecklington, Toumani Diagouraga, and Krystian Pearce on loan - for a combined total of less than £1m.
Lewis does not think further additions will be needed, and expects Posh to push on following the international break.
"We haven't got the biggest squad in the league, so the break could help us out," he said.
"Teams with big squads like having game after game after game so they can rotate their side."
