Frecklington made 142 appearances for Lincoln before joining Peterborough
Peterborough United's on-loan midfielder Lee Frecklington has said he would love to be a Championship player come the end of the season.
The Republic of Ireland B cap has moved to the League One promotion chasers with a view to a permanent deal.
The 23-year-old told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "My aim is to play at the highest standard I possibly can.
"If I could win promotion this season and play in the Championship next year it would be a dream come true."
Frecklington is a product of the Lincoln academy and has spent his entire career to date with his hometown club.
Posh boss Darren Ferguson attempted to bring him to London Road back in January 2008.
And Frecklington is confident he can force his way into the Posh first team.
"If I didn't think could step up, then I wouldn't be here and I'll be working hard in training to break into what is already a very good football team," he said.
With Dean Keates and Paul Coutts playing well in central midfield, Frecklington will need to work hard to break into the side.
"Getting forward and scoring goals is part of my game and the more I develop as a player, the more the goals will come," he said.
He made his debut as a substitute against Brighton on Tuesday and has been named in the Posh squad for Yeovil on Saturday.
