Promotion-chasing Peterborough claimed victory at struggling Hereford.
Aaron Mclean raced into the area to drill home the opening goal after only three minutes.
Hereford striker Steve Guinan fired a 25-yard shot into the arms of keeper Joe Lewis before Mclean missed three chances to increase Posh's lead.
The hosts, however, had a good chance to equalise in the 64th minute but striker Guinan fired inches over the crossbar from 12 yards.
Hereford manager Graham Turner told BBC Hereford and Worcester:

"[Beforehand] I got sick and tired of telling them not to let anyone get in behind us as that was their big threat.
"Within three or four minutes they are in behind us for a goal.
"That is one thing I cannot understand and I cannot accept from players."
