Boyd has been a virtual ever-present for Posh this season
Peterborough United boss Darren Ferguson has said winger George Boyd was at the top of his game in Tuesday's 4-2 win over Brighton in League One.
The 23-year-old has been in spectacular form in recent games and put in an all-action performance at Brighton.
Ferguson told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "The boy just wants to play, he just want to get on the ball and play, he's a very talented individual.
"He could play anywhere on the pitch - he's a top, top player."
Boyd came in for criticism from some Posh fans following a couple of less effective performances back in January, but is currently in a rich vein of form.
Ferguson has previously described Boyd as "Premier League quality" and has no doubts over the ability of his star man.
"As well as being a great player, he's a good lad and he puts his shift in," he said.
"People might not see that because he's so talented on the ball, but he works his socks off just like everyone else."
Loan signing James Chester was handed a debut start in place of the injured Craig Morgan.
Despite a couple of tricky moments, Ferguson was pleased with his new recruit.
"I thought James did very well, he's only a young boy, you can see he's got a good temperament which you would expect coming from Manchester United," he said.
