Cambridge United manager Gary Brabin has denied his team's perceived lack of tactical consistency is caused by him playing with their formation.
The U's boss believes Tuesday's 3-1 win over Kidderminster reflects the careful consideration he puts into games.
Brabin told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "People seem to think I like tinkering just for the sake of it, but I put a lot of thought into things.
"Going into the game I was confident we had the right formation."
Jai Reason, on loan from Ipswich, came into the midfield with Daryl MacMahon and Anthony Tonkin both returning from injury.

Brabin chose to continue with the same front three that featured at Rushden two weeks ago, but with Chris Holroyd replacing the suspended Danny Crow.
"Chris has worked really hard and at times he's been a bit frustrated with his lack of goals," Brabin said.
"I think sometimes he tries to do a little bit too much, but today he did just as we wanted and got his rewards."
With the U's back up to third in the Blue Square Premier table, Brabin insists he now wants the winning run to be extended at Lewes on Saturday.
"I was pleased not just with the result but the attitude and work-rate of the lads," he said.
"But we've got to keep that going now and hopefully get some momentum."
