Oxford United enjoyed a comfortable 2-0 win at Dumbarton as their short tour of Scotland began well.
The U's took the lead in the 19th minute when keeper Stephen Grindlay spilled a shot from Asa Hall and Alfie Potter bundled in the rebound.
James Constable twice hit the woodwork for Oxford before Sam Deering made the victory safe for United with a left footed chip from the edge of the area.
Boss Chris Wilder told BBC Oxford: "I am happy. We have a winning mentality."
He continued: "I was delighted with the team and individuals in difficult conditions. Dumbarton didn't lie down and that helps us get up to speed.
"The boys who didn't start will get a chance to stake their claim at Livingston on Tuesday night."
It is expected that defender Harry Worley will figure again after linking up with the Oxford squad in Scotland. The 21-year-old was released by Leicester last week.
BBC Oxford will have reports from the Livingston match at 1930 BST in a sports special on Tuesday night.
