Mitchell Cole helps Oxford United to beat Didcot Town

Oxford United started their pre-season warm-up fixtures with a 6-2 win at Didcot Town.

Winger Mitchell Cole, a summer signing from League Two rivals Stevenage, stole the show with two goals after coming on as a second-half substitute.

Other goals came from Matt Green, Henry Owen, James Constable and trialist midfielder Ryan Crockford.

Crockford, 23, is trying to rebuild his career after a conviction for grievous bodily harm with intent.

He played for Reading and Aldershot, on loan, before being sentenced to four years in prison in 2008.

Didcot players on target were Michael Bartley and Riccardo Cannon. The score was 1-1 at half-time.
