Under Wilder, Oxford lost only once in September.

Oxford United boss Chris Wilder has been named the Blue Square Premier manager of the month.

It is the second consecutive award for Wilder and comes after six wins from seven matches for the U's.

The player of the month is keeper Ryan Clarke, who kept five clean sheets during the seven games in the month.

Wilder said: "We have started the season very well and I am very pleased for Ryan and the defence who deserve the recognition."

He added: "Everything we do is as a team and these awards are nice recognition of all the hard work that everyone has put in."

Clarke may be missing for the first time this season when Oxford travel to Barrow on Saturday.

He has an elbow injury and Billy Turley is standing by to replace him.
