Chapman played in defence and midfield during his loan spell

Oxford have completed the permanent signing of Sheffield United midfielder Adam Chapman.

The Northern Ireland Under-21 man, 19, joined the U's on loan in January and impressed during a 20-game spell.

Chapman's transfer fee is £15,000, dependant on games played, plus a 50% share of any future transfer fee.

He told BBC Oxford: "I'm happy. It has been a long overdue process and has taken many twists and turns. But finally I am happy for it to be done."

U's boss Chris Wilder said: "To get somebody of his quality says a lot about the football club. On the pitch and off the pitch the way he has been treated. It's great news for us."
