Chapman has had a good start to his Oxford spell

Oxford boss Chris Wilder admits the U's may face competition from Football League clubs to keep defender Adam Chapman on loan next season.

The versatile 19-year-old is on loan from Sheffield United until the summer and has impressed in his nine games.

"I think Chapman is a good player, he's versatile and clever," said Wilder.

"We are desperately trying to extend it [the loan deal]. But I wouldn't be surprised if other people have noticed at a higher level."

He added: "I think if there were other clubs in for him, and we are of the same level, he would come to us. That is if they were to send him out again."
