Oxford full-back Chris Carruthers says the team cannot afford to lose their recent momentum if they are to push into the top-half of the table.
The U's have won their last three home matches, and Carruthers says it is vital this form continues.
"We have had some good results recently and it was nice to get a clean sheet against Hayes last week," the defender told BBC Radio Oxford.
"That's the confidence we need to build on and we must keep it going."
Carruthers has won his place back in the Oxford first team and has been removed from the transfer-list after a recent return to form.
Oxford are currently 17th in the Blue Square Premier table ahead of the game against York City at the Kassam Stadium on Saturday.
