Norwich City defender Gary Doherty targets Easter wins
Doherty was man of the match against Leeds United at Carrow Road
Gary Doherty is aiming for a successful Easter as Norwich City look to wrap up promotion from League One.
The Canaries now stand 11 points clear at the top after Chris Martin's late winner to see off Leeds on Saturday.
"If we can keep this gap by the end of Easter, going into the last six games, then we've got a great chance," said the Norwich defender.
"We've got a massive Easter, on telly against Tranmere, and at home to Stockport," he told BBC Radio Norfolk.
"To beat the second-placed team gives us a big gap now.
Doherty, named man of the match in Saturday's 1-0 win over Leeds, also praised the club's fans for keeping their heads in a pressure-cooker atmosphere.
"I've got to commend our supporters," he said. "We've been lucky, when we're playing at home, that they're always behind us.
"I've noticed a few times when you watch maybe Charlton or Leeds they're maybe a bit tense in front of their own fans.
"We've been lucky that our fans have been behind us 100 per cent.
"That's massive, because you don't want the nerves or the tension of the fans getting on to the pitch."
