Cardoza says his talks with the council over Sixfields are crucial to the future
Northampton Town chairman David Cardoza has warned that the club does not have a future if the local council fails to come up with solid plans for Sixfields.
Cardoza has been trying to redevelop land around the stadium for six years but has not received the backing of Northampton Borough Council.
"There is now no room left for further delays, no room left for warm words and yet no action," said Cardoza.
"We either jointly achieve something historic or we admit to the failure."
Next week the club and the council will discuss the Sixfields issue and Cardoza is insisting that the matter be moved on.
"We are now, more than ever before, at a crossroads for the whole project and as a consequence for the future of the club," he told the club website.
We can't go on propping up the business without any hope of the club becoming self-sufficient through improved facilities
Cobblers chairman David Cardoza
"But without the council on board there is no redevelopment and without the redevelopment there is no real future for Northampton Town Football Club, not that I can see anyway.
"It's now, or never. It's make or break time for the club and the council.
"It has cost me and my father 7m to get to this stage over the last few years and we can't go on propping up the business without any hope of the club becoming self-sufficient through improved facilities.
