Sixfields is subject of a long-running development saga |
Northampton Town general manager Tony Clarke has questioned the club's future if they face further delays to their redevelopment plans. Clarke warned an open forum that chairman David Cardoza may walk away if the long-running saga with the local authority is not resolved.
The club claim Northampton Borough Council say public consultation on the plans may not take place until 2008.
Clarke's warning comes ahead of a Council meeting on 4 December.
David Cardoza and his family are thought to subsidise the Cobblers to the tune of 1m a year.
Clarke warned the family could regard any delay on public consultation until 2008 as unsustainable.
His dire warning hinted the club could fold or run at a loss until relegation to the Conference if the Cardoza family walk away.
