Harvey seeks travel cure
Morecambe boss Jimmy Harvey has demanded an upturn in his side's away form to keep their play-off hopes alive.

The Shrimpers boast the best home record in the Nationwide Conference with Saturday's win over promotion rivals Hereford United their 11th in 13 attempts.

However, Harvey's men have won just three times on the road and the boss is looking to double that number of victories in the closing months of the season.

"We've got half-a-dozen away games left and we want to win at least half of them, as well as maintaining our home form," he said.

"We should have picked up another three or four wins away from home, which is disappointing.

"It's something we are aware of and we are working hard to try and get it right.

"There are a lot of reasons why it could be happening and we are trying to cover all of those."

Morecambe, fifth in the table, have succumbed to a number of costly late goals on their travels.

Harvey is leaving no stone unturned in his bid to help his young side keep things tight as he looks into everything from how his players pace themselves in a game to preparation and diet.

"The rest of things are spot-on and we are very close to getting it right. We've just got to keep monitoring the situation and improving," he said.
