Luton are set to complete the signing of defender Shane Blackett from Championship side Peterborough United, subject to a medical.
In a club first, all the proceeds from Saturday's friendly against Posh will go towards the transfer fee.
The central defender has agreed a two-year deal with the Hatters and could make his debut in Saturday's friendly.
The 26-year-old, who can also play left-back, has Blue Square Premier experience with Dagenham and Redbridge.
Blackett won the Conference with the Daggers in 2006/07 and he made 83 appearances for the Victoria Road side before a move to Peterborough in January 2007.
Luton managing director Gary Sweet said: "We are hopeful that our fans will not only come out and support the team on Saturday but also help us fund a signing who we believe will be a great asset to our first-team squad.
"Shane is a highly rated player with Peterborough and the fact he is Luton-born makes the deal even more special."
