Lincoln City defender Ian Pearce is set to miss the rest of the season with a back injury.
The 35-year-old assistant manager, who has been a regular in the Imps side, came off during Lincoln's 3-1 home win over Hereford on Saturday.
Manager Chris Sutton told BBC Lincolnshire: He's genuinely in a really bad way.
"I doubt he'll play again this season unless something dramatic happens. We'll really miss him."
Lincoln City have an injury crisis with Nathan Baker, Adam Watts, Chris Herd, Lenell John-Lewis, Richard Butcher also out.
