Lincoln City ages are irrelevant, says Chris Sutton

Lincoln City manager Chris Sutton insists age is not an issue when it comes to picking his team.

Sutton has brought in several young players since taking charge and the average age of the team at the end of the Imps' 2-1 victory at Barnet was 21.

But he told BBC Lincolnshire: "It wouldn't bother me if we had an average age of 31, I just want to win games.

"That's just how it's panned out. If someone was 16 and I felt they deserved a place they'd be in."

Sutton added: "I don't prefer someone just because they're a younger player.

"It's good from the club's point of view if we can have a young team but from my point of view it's about winning games."
