Lincoln City keep Nathan Baker until end of season

Lincoln City have signed Aston Villa defender Nathan Baker, 18, on loan until the end of the season.

The England Under-19 international has made nine appearances since joining the Imps in October, but the original deal reached its 93-day limit on 22 January.

Lincoln manager Chris Sutton told BBC Lincolnshire: "We rate him very highly and it's a massive coup for the club."

"He's a good defender, he reads the game well and I'm really pleased to have him until the end of the season."

Football League regulations allow for short-term loans of up to 93 days to become long-term deals, which can run for the length of the season, without affecting a club's quota of loans.
