McGivern is a Northern Ireland international

Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson says he is delighted to have been able to tie up a loan deal for Manchester City left-back Ryan McGivern.

The 19-year-old has signed until January and was on the bench for Monday's game against Newcastle United.

Pearson told BBC Radio Leicester: "He's a player we've been looking at for a while and I'm very grateful to Man City for letting him to come to us.

"He is an exciting prospect and will add strength in depth at left-back."
