Pearson positive despite defeat

Pearson's men have only conceded three goals this season

Leicester City boss Nigel Pearson says he will not become too disheartened following their 1-0 defeat by title contenders Newcastle United.

The Foxes, who would have gone top of the Championship with a win, struggled to find their best form and lost out to a Danny Guthrie strike.

But Pearson told BBC Leicester: "We know there is better to come from us.

"There are a lot of very tough places to go in this league and we've got off to a decent start."

He added: "It wasn't a great game. We've played better, we've certainly played worse."

Leicester welcomed back forward pair Steve Howard and Martyn Waghorn, who both suffered hamstring injuries in the draw away to Sheffield United two weeks ago.

"It's always nice to have a full squad to choose from," said Pearson.

"It's about making sure that we have the strongest available squad."
