Phillips has scored 14 goals for Birmingham this season
Incoming Huddersfield chairman Dean Hoyle has quashed rumours that the club is eyeing up an audacious move for Birmingham striker Kevin Phillips.
Terriers boss Lee Clark had told BBC Radio Leeds that he would like to sign Phillips, who helped City win promotion to the Premier League this season.
However, Hoyle said: "We're aware of the rumours, but there's nothing in them and there has been no contact.
Phillips has reportedly been unhappy with his lack of games at Birmingham.
He scored the second of the Blues goals at Reading on Sunday in a 2-1 victory that ensured their return to the top flight after a one-year absence.
Clark played alongside the 35-year-old at Sunderland and he told BBC Radio Leeds: "If Kevin is put on the table and he says he'd like to come, then I'd certainly do the deal, but that hasn't arisen yet.
"I would love to have Kevin at this football club but he will still score goals in the Premier League.
"However, if I get a phone call from Birmingham boss Alex McLeish asking if I'd like him, then that's a different ballgame.
