Huddersfield have appointed former Newcastle and Millwall midfielder Paul Stephenson as their development coach.

The 41-year-old comes in just three days after director of football development Gerry Murphy left the club after 20-years of service.

Stephenson most recently worked as first-team coach at Norwich City, alongside current Town boss Lee Clark.

Stephenson, who played in the same Newcastle youth team as Paul Gascoigne, will also become the reserve team boss.

Meanwhile, Huddersfield hope to complete the signing of Lucas Jutkiewicz on loan on Monday.

Town failed to sign the young Everton striker on the final day of the January transfer window due to a paperwork problem.

The club also aim to receive international clearance for Frenchman Jonathan Tehoue this week.

Manager Lee Clark told BBC Radio Leeds: "Lucas will be our player when the loan window reopens and will be available for the Leeds United game on Saturday.

"As for Jonathan he's been with us for three-weeks and is fit and ready to go.

"So as soon as he is available he will come straight into my thoughts and be involved in the match-day 16."
