Stockport came from behind to salvage a point courtesy of a stoppage-time own goal from Huddersfield's Nathan Clarke.
The Terriers held a deserved half-time lead after Michael Collins tucked home an angled effort from Lukas Jutkiewicz's cross.
But Leon McSweeney's injury-time strike deflected off Clarke to leave Terriers keeper Alex Smithies stranded.
Clarke's unfortunate intervention came after a frenetic second period that saw both teams spurn presentable chances.
