Histon club secretary Howard Wilkins says there is nothing deceptive about financial records they submitted to the Football Conference.
The Stutes have been charged with allegedly submitting "misleading financial information".
Wilkins told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire the club has nothing to hide.
"There's certainly no deliberate attempt on our part to mislead anybody and we've tried to be upfront with the Conference from day one," he said.
"If the Conference felt there was an intention to mislead then the situation would be very serious, but I'm very confident that hasn't been the case.
"Figures in the quarterly report we submitted in April this year do not correlate with figures we've submitted more recently.
I would have said months ago that we knew everything that we owed, but things keep cropping up and now we're losing income

"At the time we were charged we had no idea what figures had been reported in the last quarterly submission in April, so we've asked for clarification on that."
Histon have undergone numerous changes at boardroom level this year, with Tony Roach stepping down as chairman in April and chief executive Allen Soraff quitting in June, before Russell Hands became chairman in July.
It remains unclear exactly what the discrepancy is between April's accounts and the most recent submission.
The Stutes will appear before an independent commission on 23 December before a verdict is given.
Meanwhile Wilkins says the club have had to delay paying their players for November because of unexpected debts.
"I would have said months ago that we knew everything that we owed, but things keep cropping up and now we're losing income with matches being postponed," he added.
"It's a very difficult situation and we're working day-by-day, but we're optimistic and certainly very committed to stabilising this club."
