Histon's pitch has been cut up badly over the winter months
Histon chairman Gareth Baldwin has revealed plans to improve drainage at the Glass World after suffering regular postponements in recent weeks.
The Stutes have had to rearrange four matches for later in the season.
Baldwin told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "I view it as unacceptable when we are the only side in the Blue Square Premier who doesn't play.
"We've had an official review and intend to install a substantial new drainage system."
Along with many other non-league sides, Histon have been hit by the recent freezing weather, but have also found their pitch flooded when many others have been playable.
Postponing matches has inevitable finance implications for a club such as Histon, but Baldwin says that money is not the main motivation behind improving the pitch.
"As a fan you get ready for a game on a Saturday or a Tuesday night and if it's called off because of bad weather it's really frustrating," he said.
"It's really important that we get the games on when they are supposed to be on, it can damage your club's reputation when games are being called off."
Work on the pitch will take place at the end of the season and will involve the installation of a completely new drainage system.
Meanwhile, Baldwin has confirmed that further improvements are planned for other areas of the stadium.
"We're starting work in around three weeks to finish the terrace for the home fans at the Rec end of the ground," he said.
"That will give us a capacity for around another 400 standing fans in time for the end of March when we'll have our next Football League inspection."
