Histon chairman Baldwin felt the first tie should have gone ahead
Histon chairman Gareth Baldwin has apologised for accusing Swansea City of trying to get their original FA Cup third round fixture postponed.
Baldwin had claimed Swansea officials "were on their phones to the FA" to postpone the match before it was called off because of a frozen pitch.
"I would like to apologise for being a little bit too outspoken," he said ahead of Tuesday's rearranged fixture.
"It's genuinely not how I am but on the day I was disappointed and upset."
Blue Square Premier outfit Histon made it to the third round for the first time in their history after beating League One sides Swindon and Leeds on the way.
Baldwin said the row over the original fixture had "added a bit of spice" to Tuesday's tie.
But he admitted his side were "petrified" at the prospect of playing the Swans after watching their 2-0 win over Burnley on television on Saturday.
"We watched the game and everyone was like 'blimey'," he said.
"We know we are going to need a lot of luck to beat Swansea.
"They demonstrated on Saturday what a good footballing side they are. The team they beat are no mugs, that's for sure.
"We know we've got a massive job tonight. I guess initially it's about damage limitation and then see if we've got a foothold in the game to see if we can cause an upset.
"We are going into the game with a little bit of trepidation after seeing Saturday."
