Mitchel-King took the Histon captaincy on from Adie Cambridge this summer
Despite his team's FA Cup heroics, Histon captain Mat Mitchel-King says it is crucial his side maintain their league form over the coming weeks.
The Stutes face Kettering at the Glass World on Saturday.
Mitchel-King told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "The league is our bread and butter.
"We're going to get judged at the end of the season not on how far we've got in the FA Cup but where we finish in the league."
Histon will take on Leeds or Northampton in the FA Cup second round, but have a number of important league matches prior to the clash.
With 31 points from their 16 matches, the Stutes are competing at the right end of the table and Mitchel-King is confident the side will not be distracted by their cup exploits.
"Fal [manager Steve Fallon] and Becky [coach John Beck] would never let us rest on our laurels and they always keep us grounded," Mitchel-King said.
Despite competing with several full-time sides in the Blue Square Premier, Histon still operate on a part-time basis.
Mitchel-King works as a model and body-double for the likes of Thierry Henry and Rio Ferdinand.
He admits it can sometimes be tough doing two jobs, but that matches like the FA Cup win over Swindon make it all worthwhile.
"There are days when you're up early or working a long shift and have to go straight to training," Mitchel-King said.
"But we want to be there - we're young players who want to do well and the FA Cup win is the sort of thing that gives us the drive and appetite to keep going."
