Hereford United must forget FA Cup tie, says Rob Purdie

Hereford United midfielder Rob Purdie says the Bulls' players will forget all about their FA Cup exploits this week as they focus on a key league clash.

Hereford drew with Lincoln City at Edgar Street on Saturday and face a replay next week at Sincil Bank.

But Purdie told BBC Hereford and Worcester: "Saturday against Morecambe is massive game for us.

"If we want to get up into mid-table we have to be beating sides like Morecambe at home as they are down around us."

Purdie, a loan signing from Oldham currently in his second spell at Edgar Street, scored the Bulls' first goal against Lincoln on Saturday and says he felt the game against their League Two rivals was always going to be close.

"I said at half-time it had got a draw written all over it.

"I was confident we would score. If we had scored a little bit earlier we might have been able to put a bit of pressure on them and snatch a win."

Hereford face a trip to Wycombe Wanderers in the third round of the FA Cup if they win the replay.
