Graham Turner has been at Edgar Street for 15 years
Hereford United chairman Graham Turner's 15-year association with the club could be close to ending.
Turner is hoping for a speedy conclusion to talks over the sale of his controlling shareholding in the Edgar Street club.
Turner said talks are progressing well, with three different groups interested in taking Hereford forward.
He said: "It is not all about price but there is considerable interest and it could be settled shortly.
"We feel we are making progress as we are talking to several parties at the moment," he added.
Club vice-chairman Joan Fennessy, who is also selling her holding, has been at Edgar Street for 34 years during which time she has held a number of key positions.
It is important we get it settled as the new people have obviously got to appoint a manager and bring in new players

Turner said it would clearly be better for the sale to go through quickly, as this is an important time of the year at a football club.
"It has dragged on a little bit as the due diligence that people have to do is a long drawn out affair," he said.
"Others have appeared on the scene a little bit later than the first group.
"But it is important we get it settled as the new people have obviously got to appoint a manager and have got to bring in new players," he added.
Meanwhile, the Bulls boss is resigned to losing last season's top-scorer Marc Pugh who has turned down the offer of a new contract.
"I thought he had an excellent season for us," Turner said. "When he was bad he was really bad, but most of the time he put in some really good performances.
"His goals were very welcome and 13 goals is a terrific record for a wide player.
"I will be sorry to see him go but he has done a good job and he is another of those where you just wish him all the best."
