Goals from Mathieu Manset, Darren Jones and Marc Pugh earned Hereford victory as Rotherham head into the League Two play-offs off the back of a defeat.
The home side took an early lead when Pugh got away on the left and delivered a low cross that Manset rifled away.
And they doubled their advantage when Jones headed Kenny Lunt's cross past Andy Warrington at the far post.
Hereford made sure of the points when Pugh finished off a fine run with a neat strike into the corner of the net.
Hereford director of football Graham Turner told BBC Hereford and Worcester:
"Most of it came from a very good build up and I was pleased with the application and the degree of skill.
"The pitch was a bit bobbly and we had to come to terms with that.
"We passed the ball extremely well at times and created the good chances - we didn't just lump the ball forward, the chances were created."
Rotherham manager Ronnie Moore told BBC Radio Sheffield:
"It certainly wasn't us. It looked like they were frightened to death of picking up an injury before the play offs.
"You have to go out there and want to play for next week.
"I'm not going to slag them (the players), it was disappointing for the fans to see that performance but we'll have to put that straight at Aldershot."
