Marius Zaliukas has signed a new contract with Hearts that commits the defender to the Edinburgh club until December 2010.
There had been speculation about his future at Tynecastle after fellow Lithuanians Saulius Mikoliunas and Deividas Cesnauskis left the club.
But the 25-year-old has followed four other players who have agreed new contracts in recent weeks.
Lee Wallace, Jamie MacDonald, Calum Elliot and Jason Thomson also signed.
Zaliukas, who initially joined Hearts on loan from Kaunas in August 2006, has made 26 appearances this season.
He was linked with a move to Russia in December, with reports stating that two Moscow clubs were poised to make offers in the region of £2m.
Those failed to materialise and the Lithuania international has been persuaded to remain at Hearts by manager Csaba Laszlo.
Zaliukas was one of a number of players brought to the Scottish Premier League club via Kaunas, who are sponsored by Hearts owner Vladimir Romanov.
However, with the departure of wingers Mikoliunas and Cesnauskis, Zaliukas is the last remaining Lithuanian in Hearts' first-team squad.
