Hartlepool United extend Jake Kean loan from Blackburn

Hartlepool United have extended the loan of Blackburn Rovers goalkeeper Jake Kean until February after an impressive spell.

The 19-year-old has kept nine clean sheets in his 18 appearances for Pools, and has helped the club to four wins in their last four games.

Kean joined Blackburn following his release by Derby County but is yet to make a first-team appearance.

He signed a three-and-a-half-year deal with Rovers in November.

Pools first team coach Mick Wadsworth has been impressed with Kean since his arrival at Victoria Park in September.

"He's got everything he needs and if he works and works then you never know," Wadsworth said.

"I can't take any of the responsibility for bringing him to the club at all. That's all down to Gary Walsh.

"Because of Gary's knowing Bobby Mimms and the people at Blackburn, they advised us to have a look at him, we took him and, since he's been here it's been great for him, great for Blackburn and great for us.

"He's now got a long contract there, and it's fully deserved because he's a smashing lad, and it is pleasurable when you get nice people with you."
