Porter is believed to be returning to Australian football during the summer
Hartlepool United boss Chris Turner has admitted he will be disappointed to lose striker Joel Porter if he returns to his native Australia this summer.
Porter, 30, has scored 66 goals in nearly 200 games for Pool and Turner is appreciative of the forward's efforts during the last five-and-a-half years.
"He's been a magnificent servant, his contribution to the club has been enormous," Turner told BBC Tees.
"I think he's selling himself short, but I think it's a lifestyle decision."
Pools snapped up the Socceroos international in November 2003 after the striker had enjoyed a spell with Sydney Olympic.
