Exeter City manager Paul Tisdale is hoping striker Richard Logan will be able to replicate his form as a substitute for a full 90 minutes.
Logan rescued a point at Swindon on Tuesday, with a late goal after coming on in the 75th minute.
Tisdale told BBC Devon: "We'll see next time he gets to start a game whether he can play at the same intensity.
"But you certainly can't argue with people that come of the bench and do what he can do."
The 27-year-old striker, who is yet to start for the Grecians this season, also scored as a sub against Norwich which rescued a point for his team.
Tisdale added: "As a manager you want him to do that whenever he plays.
"Every situation demands a different type of player and different type of performance and Richard has coming on and saving the day down to an art."
On Saturday, Exeter host Hartlepool at St James Park and Tisdale knows the club from the North East will not make life easy for his side.
"We're still not as efficient as I'd like us to be," he said.
"But we're going to get better at that and the most encouraging thing as always is when you've got a team that shows a more competitive instinct game after game."
