Eastbourne Borough are set to make midfielder Danny Brown's loan move from Cambridge United permanent on a deal running for the rest of the season.
The 28-year-old joined Borough in November, and has helped keep them out of the Conference relegation places.
Brown has turned down offers to return to full-time football with Chester City and Kettering Town.
He will maintain full-time training, both with the squad and through extra sessions with coach Nick Greenwood.
Clubs are free to make permanent signings once the transfer window reopens on 1 January.
