Stock returned in January from a four-month injury lay-off

Doncaster Rovers will find out in the next 48 hours whether midfielder Brian Stock needs season-ending back surgery.

The 28-year-old spent four months out this season with an ankle injury and manager Sean O'Driscoll told BBC Radio Sheffield the player has two options.

"I think he'll probably give the injection one last chance and see what the reaction is," he said.

"If it's favourable, great. If not, the choice is non-existent and you bite the bullet and get it done."

He added: "Fingers crossed because on Tuesday night he was out for the season and now there's a little glimmer that we could get him back."
