Talbot is now Chesterfield's leading scorer with 10 goals
Chesterfield's pursuit of automatic promotion from League Two continued with a narrow victory over Crewe.
Drew Talbot followed in Barry Conlon's deflected shot to fire in his 10th goal of the season and give the Spireites their sixth consecutive victory.
Crewe's James Bailey cleared a Conlon header off his own line to deny the visitors a second and Ashley Westwood blazed over a late chance to equalise.
Chesterfield are now just three points behind third-placed Bournemouth.
