Derby County close to extending Luke Moore loan deal

Tom Glick
Luke has been terrific for us, he has that little bit of quality and has scored three great goals

Derby County are close to wrapping up a deal to keep on-loan West Bromwich Albion striker Luke Moore at Pride Park until the end of the season.

The 24-year-old's loan spell runs out after the derby match against Nottingham Forest on 29 December.

But Rams chief executive Tom Glick told BBC Radio Derby: "I think [manager] Nigel Clough has been clear that we are interested in extending it.

"We would hope that soon we would be able to report that we have done that."

Moore initially joined the Rams on a month-long loan deal in September but that deal has already been extended twice.

"Luke has been terrific for us, he has that little bit of quality and has scored three great goals," Glick added.

Moore joined the Baggies from Midlands rivals Aston Villa in a deal worth a potential £3.5m at the end of the 2007/08 season.

But he was left out of Roberto di Matteo's 25-man Premier League squad at the start of the season.
