Hughes joined Hull from Charlton in 2007

Derby County have signed Hull City midfielder Bryan Hughes on an initial one-month loan deal.

The 33-year-old, who is out of favour at the KC Stadium and has not played this season, is expected to make his Rams debut against QPR on Saturday.

Boss Nigel Clough told the club website: "I'm delighted. Bryan is a player who brings vast experience.

"Everyone knows our injury situation and when we looked at available players, Bryan's name stood out."

Rams boss Nigel Clough has a lengthy injury-list and both Kris Commons and Jay McEveley were injured in the midweek defeat away at Middlesbrough.

Hughes played for Wrexham, Birmingham and Charlton before joining Hull in the summer of 2007.
