McEveley has had more than his fair share of injuries in the past six months

Derby County defender Jay McEveley has been ruled out for six weeks with a fractured cheekbone suffered during Tuesday's 2-0 defeat at Middlesbrough.

And midfielder Kris Commons strained a hamstring in the same game to add to the club's ever-growing injury worries.

Commons only returned to action at the weekend after a month on the sidelines with a calf injury.

But the Scotland international had to be replaced after just 12 minutes of the match at the Riverside Stadium.
