Crewe striker Shaun Miller has said he wants to repay the faith shown in him by Alex manager Dario Gradi.

Miller, who has endured a tough season, scored his fifth goal of the campaign in Crewe's 1-1 draw against lowly Lincoln at Sincil Bank on Saturday.

He told BBC Radio Stoke: "I know the manager's got faith in me, so I've got to produce the performances and score the goals to go with his decision.

"I'll have to keep working hard and hopefully he'll keep picking me."

Miller, 22, was among Crewe's top scorers in 2008/09, but struggled for regular football under former boss Gudjon Thordarson.

With 16-goal Calvin Zola likely to be fit for the home game against Barnet on Saturday, Miller is aware he faces a battle for his place, but has set himself a goal target for the rest of the season.

"I scored seven last year, so I'd obviously like to improve on that," added Miller. "We've got a lot of games to go this season so it's within reach."
