Mansour Assoumani was on trial at Sheffield United before joining Leeds

Former Leeds United defender Mansour Assoumani has joined League One rivals Crewe Alexandra on trial.

The 25-year-old spent a month at Elland Road earlier this season, making one first-team appearance.

The Mali international, who began his career with French side Montpellier, trained with the Alex on Thursday.

Meanwhile, manager Gudjon Thordarson has appointed Steve Marcello as the club's new goalkeeping coach on a part-time basis.
