Mark Carrington and Joel Grant got the goals as rock-bottom Crewe pulled off a late turnaround to beat Tranmere.
Crewe dominated the first half but it was Rovers who took the lead in the 26th minute, Anthony Kay picking up the ball 25 yards out and driving home.
Edrissa Sonko should have made it 2-0 when he headed wide, while Colin Daniel fired over a great chance to level.
Carrington equalised with a tap-in, before Grant's shot deflected up and into the net to seal the win.
