Simon Richman's equaliser just before the break rescued a point for Port Vale at Morecambe.

Morecambe took an early lead when midfielder Craig Stanley converted Rene Howe's cross after only four minutes.

But Port Vale equalised through Richman who headed home Scott Brown's pass from close-range.

After the break Louis Dodds hit the bar for Morecambe while Port Vale keeper Joe Anyon missed a backpass but the ball curled wide of the post.
