Crewe captain Julian Baudet has said he has been impressed by the start that Gudjon Thordarson has made to life as manager of the Alex.
Thordarson was appointed as Steve Holland's successor at the Alexandra Stadium in December.
Baudet told BBC Radio Stoke: "All the boys have noticed that he has stamped his authority on the team.
"He's been there and done it before, and I'm sure he can lead us away from the relegation zone."
Baudet played under the Thordarson at Notts County and said the Icelander's attitude towards discipline is exactly what is needed by the Alex.
"He won't mess around with players who don't do what he says," said Baudet.

"We've got five months to get away from trouble so if we don't listen to him, who will we listen to?
"If there's one man to listen to, it's him, even if that means a big change in our attitude," he added.
