Crawley have signed midfielder Simon Weatherstone from Blue Square Premier rivals Weymouth and winger Danny Forrest from Halifax Town.

Forrest, 23, began his career at Bradford before joining the Shaymen.

Weatherstone, 28, was a target for the Reds last season but opted to stay at the Wessex Stadium.

Manager Steve Evans told BBC Southern Counties Radio: "Every time we have seen Simon in the last few months he has been absolutely sensational."

The club are also in talks with a goalkeeper to replace Ashley Bayes who joined Stevenage.
