Williamson played for Colchester boss Paul Lambert at Wycombe

Wycombe Wanderers have rejected Colchester United's six-figure bid for centre-back Mike Williamson.

The 25-year-old defender started his career at Torquay, before joining Southampton for �100,000 in 2001.

He joined Wycombe from the Saints, initially on loan, in 2004 and played under current U's boss Paul Lambert.

Meanwhile, fellow Wanderers centre-back Lewis Christon has left the League Two club by mutual consent. The 19-year-old had been at the club for eight years.
