Saah pens one-year Cambridge deal

Cambridge United have signed defender Brian Saah on a one-year deal following his release by Leyton Orient.

The 22-year-old played under U's boss Martin Ling at Brisbane Road and will go straight into the squad for Saturday's trip to Tamworth.

Saah had spent time on trial at Southend and Torquay over the summer.

Ling told the club website: "I've been saying we've got too many midfielders and not enough defenders and Brian solves that problem."

The U's have been searching for defensive cover since the departure of Phil Bolland to Barrow.

Saah will compete with Wayne Hatswell and Josh Coulson for a place in the side.

"He's athletic, he's good in the air and will make our defensive unit stronger," Ling said.
