Nardiello keen to be busy at Bury

Bury's on-loan Blackpool striker Daniel Nardiello is hoping to play as much football as he can after making a good start to his month at Gigg Lane.

The former Manchester United starlet scored on his Shakers debut and created a goal for Andy Morrell in Saturday's 3-3 home draw with Notts County.

"I've not played that much in ages," Nardiello told BBC Radio Manchester.

"There are five or six games this month and hopefully I can get to play all six games. I can get my fitness too."

Coventry-born former Wolves academy graduate Nardiello, who returns to the West Midlands on Saturday when Bury are due at Shrewsbury, added: "I'm really grateful they've given me the opportunity to play here.

"They're obviously struggling with strikers being out injured at the moment so it's to my benefit, I suppose, that I can come here and get lots of football, get match fitness and hopefully score a lot of goals."

Shakers top scorer Ryan Lowe missed Saturday's game after picking up a knee injury in the 3-2 Johnstone's Paint Trophy defeat at Accrington four days earlier.

And last season's 17-goal top scorer Andy Bishop has missed most of the season so far after undergoing surgery for a second time.
